so many things to say.
new garden!
we have been installing a new patio/garden/outdoor gallery space in our front yard, with many thanks to the support of the brunswick/topsham community and landscape architect ann kearsley.

new shows up! cultivate / small on the wall

come visit us during this month's second friday artwalk in brunswick (8/10, 5-8p). we have two shows this month - 'cultivate' in the whatnot gallery and 'small in the hall' in, you guessed it, our front hallway. 'cultivate' celebrates our new patio and everything that grows outdoors, featuring work in ceramics, fiber, and painting. 'small on the wall' is made up of tiny works by your favorite spindleworks artists for only $5 a piece. these shows run august 1 - 31.
merge!
we recently collaborated with three other programs (creative trails, shalom house, and creative work systems) on a project entitled 'merge', now showing until august 31 at creative trails in portland. stop by their gallery at 369 forest avenue to see work in sculpture, installation, and mixed media.

wearables!
we have so many new wearables in our store - handwoven ponchos, shawls, belts, and bags; screenprinted and hand-drawn tshirts, knit and handwoven scarves (get ready for winter!), beaded jewelry, and more. come by our place for one of a kind items.

summer people we like!
this summer marks the return of our program for local highschool artists, facilitated by scott minzy. here's ted wearing a recently created ceramic mask -

we were lucky to have jennifer bastian as a visiting photographer/archivist for the month of july. jennifer is a 2002 graduate of the school of the art institute of chicago and is currently in the mfa program at the university of wisconsin - milwaukee. many thanks to jennie for her hard work and great energy!

new music video
created by angela, for her band jazz angel (also featuring mitch). look for their upcoming debut on portland's l'animaux tryst field recordings.
have a great august, everyone.
